Chapter 1172 - 1186: What Should We Do in the Future?
An Ran stuck her tongue out at the sour taste. Among the five flavors, apart from salty, her favorite was sweet. The other flavors like sour, bitter, and spicy weren’t to her liking at all.Yet, this man peeled such sour oranges for her to eat.
An Ran placed the remaining oranges on the table, "I won’t eat anymore, they’re too sour."
"Wifey, you’re so afraid of sour, what are you going to do in the future?" Mu Xingfeng tossed the remaining oranges directly into the trash can and sighed.
An Ran was puzzled, then heard Mu Xingfeng continue, "They say pregnant women love sour food the most, and the nausea during pregnancy can often be suppressed by eating sour things. You’re going to suffer later on since you don’t like sour."
"Where did you hear that? Grandma said, sour for a boy, spicy for a girl. If push comes to shove, we just won’t have a son." An Ran dismissed it lightly.
"But you don’t like spicy either?"
An Ran, "..."
This seems like a real conundrum.
An Ran furtively glanced at the man beside her, contemplating the possibility of him flipping out if she said she didn’t want to have children.
Thinking of how much he hoped for her to give him a baby, in the end, she swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
The evening glow blanketed the ocean, dazzling and radiant, as the water repeatedly and tirelessly pushed onto the beach only to retreat again.
An Ran carried a small bucket, barefoot, and ran freely along the soft white sands, occasionally bending down to pick up a stray shell.
"Mu Xingfeng, you’re a liar, there are no crabs here," An Ran turned her head and shouted loudly at the man.
Mu Xingfeng wore a crisp white shirt, pants rolled up high, also barefoot, leisurely following behind the girl.
Upon hearing the girl’s accusation, Mu Xingfeng shaded his eyes with a big hand, glanced at the westward-leaning sun, "Don’t worry, you’ll definitely get to eat crabs."
Until nightfall, An Ran still hadn’t found a single crab. Mu Xingfeng, however, suddenly produced a flashlight from somewhere, took her small hand, and headed toward the rockier areas by the sea.
Once they arrived, sure enough, beneath the flashlight in the shallow water between the rocks, there were crabs hiding.
"Oh wow, there are indeed so many."
Seeing the plump crabs, An Ran visualized the juicy, tender crab meat and the golden crab roe they would become on the table, almost drooling.
She placed the small bucket on a nearby rock, ready to get into the water.
Mu Xingfeng wrapped an arm around her waist and held her back, "Don’t move, wait here."
An Ran blinked her big dark eyes. Weren’t they here to catch crabs? With so many crabs in sight, he’s not letting her catch them?
Before An Ran could speak, Mu Xingfeng continued, "The water’s cold, just wait on the side."
Already late September, the seawater was chillier at night. Mu Xingfeng always adhered to the principle that girls shouldn’t catch cold, even if the water only reached their feet, he wouldn’t let An Ran get in the water.
Upon hearing Mu Xingfeng’s words, An Ran smiled instinctively despite herself, her lips curving upward. Her man, always thinking of her.
An Ran stood on a rock, holding the small bucket, and pointed at the biggest crabs, directing Mu Xingfeng to catch them.
Mu Xingfeng’s hands were quick, whether he’d caught crabs before or not was unclear, but any crab he set his sights on never escaped his grasp. In no time, the small bucket was half full of crabs, those rambunctious creatures kept climbing up the bucket, yet the smooth, slippery sides thwarted their efforts, no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t climb out.
