Chapter 1064: Evening Star Arc, Let’s Get Acquainted
Stella Charlie pretended not to hear anything and pushed open the dormitory door. The few people chattering inside immediately fell silent, pretending to talk about something else.
Stella Charlie quietly walked back to her desk and began tidying up.
Unknowingly, she seemed to be excluded again.
Was the nightmare of three years in high school going to continue for four years in college?
Rumors about Stella Charlie had already spread to the freshman group, and the next day, walking on campus, she felt the pointing and whispers of others.
Stella Charlie gave up the idea of making friends; besides attending classes, she spent most of her time in the library.
She also looked for a part-time job near the school with a flexible schedule so she could have some financial income and pay back Vincent Warner’s money earlier.
On weekends, Stella Charlie worked part-time as a clerk at an art supplies store near the school.
She encountered that somewhat strange boy again.
When she worked at the café before, he often came and sat there for several hours.
Recently, people in the freshman group were also talking about him, hearing he was a senior at their school.
Due to his cool and handsome appearance, and being single, many girls were interested in him.
These days, when in the library, Stella Charlie often saw him, and he always sat near her.
Stella Charlie was wiping goods on the shelf, catching sight of the boy walking toward her.
"Excuse me, where is the sketch paper?"
Stella Charlie paused and pointed to the other side of the shelf, "At the bottom."
"Thank you."
As the boy turned around, Stella Charlie hesitated before speaking, "Um... have we met before?"
The boy stopped, looked back at her, shook his head, and said, "We haven’t met, but we can get to know each other."
As Stella Charlie was momentarily stunned, the boy reached out his hand to her, introducing himself, "My name is Kai Jacobs."
Stella Charlie awkwardly extended her hand, "... I’m Stella Charlie."
Kai Jacobs smiled, "Carry on with your work."
Watching Kai Jacobs’ departing figure, Stella Charlie felt something odd, but Kai Jacobs didn’t seem like someone with bad intentions.
"Used to flirt with our class heartthrob, broke up our class couples, now after Senior Jacobs?"
Stella Charlie snapped out of her thoughts upon hearing Yvonne Quincy’s sarcastic voice coming from behind and turned to look at her.
Yvonne Quincy sneered disdainfully, scrutinizing Stella Charlie’s work uniform, mocking, "Scared of being poor, huh? Can’t wait to stick to a man with slightly better conditions?"
Stella Charlie ignored her, politely asking, "Does the lady want to buy anything?"
Yvonne Quincy scoffed, "Stay away from Senior Jacobs! Don’t blame me for not warning you."
After a pause, Yvonne Quincy raised her hand to pat Stella Charlie’s face, "Have some shame!"
As Stella Charlie turned her head, she raised her hand to block Yvonne Quincy’s, showing a displeased expression.
Yvonne Quincy seemed annoyed at her resistance, pushed Stella Charlie hard.
Stella Charlie staggered and collided with the shelf behind, causing the paint cans on the shelf to fall to the ground.
Some cans were dented, others damaged, paint spilling everywhere...
The commotion drew a crowd to watch, as Yvonne Quincy coldly scoffed, standing aside enjoying Stella Charlie’s embarrassment.
The boss, seeing the mess, anxiously began to scold her, "What are you doing?! You can’t even handle such a small matter! Do you know how expensive this paint is? Figure out how to compensate! After you pay, don’t bother working here!"
