Chapter 726: I’ll Play With You
Chapter 726: I’ll Play With You
"I’ll kill you," Howie struggled, with blue veins popping on his forehead and arms."Oh, still a tough guy, huh? I really admire tough guys like you," the woman kicked him in the face, truly treating him like a dog.
"Hey, Melody, Melody, don’t resort to violence," Nina King followed up.
"So, this is how you all like to play," Melody Thorne walked into the room and casually sat on the sofa, her laid-back demeanor irritating the woman inside.
"Who are you? Not watching where you’re going?" asked the henchman following the woman.
Melody Thorne propped her chin on one hand, "Who I am isn’t important. What’s important is, isn’t it boring playing alone? How about I join you for some fun?"
The arrogant tone made the fat woman glance at her a few more times and signaled the henchman to step back, "How do you want to play?"
Melody Thorne pointed to the still furious Howie, who seemed ready to kill, and said, "First, have your people let him go. Coincidentally, I also have more money than I know how to spend and have taken a fancy to this guy. How about we gamble a few rounds?"
"Didn’t see it coming, a young woman like you with even heavier tastes than I," the woman scanned her body, "but with that tiny frame of yours, can you handle a man? I’m thinking it’s more likely he would handle you!"
Melody Thorne chuckled, and Nina handed her what she needed. Melody Thorne tossed a thick stack of documents onto the woman, "Check if I’m qualified to gamble with you. As it turns out, I run an entertainment company, too. I have plenty of young talents like him. If you win, I’ll let you have fun with all of them under my name, how about that?"
The woman stared at the stack of profiles, her eyes widening again and again, "Alright, if you lose, they all have to spend the night with me. So, tell me, how do you want to play?"
The expression on the woman’s face was full of disdain.
"Let’s use what’s on hand," Melody Thorne casually picked up the deck of cards on the table and started arranging them, "but since we’re playing, I shouldn’t be the only one with stakes. I heard you have a lot of money, right? As someone filthy rich, you should have some assets to gamble with. I understand you have six or seven subsidiaries under your name, why not put them all on the line?"
The fat woman didn’t take Melody Thorne seriously and just snorted at her suggestion, "Alright, let’s play."
"Ma’am," the henchman behind her tried to stop her, "isn’t this a bad idea?"
"What’s bad about it? Or do you think she can actually beat me?" the fat woman sneered, "Get started, get started."
"With you being so generous, naturally I won’t be stingy, right? All in, all at once, it’s up to you," Melody Thorne wagered all the artists from her company.
Nina, standing behind her, couldn’t help but twitch at the corners of her eyes.
Of course, the fat lady wouldn’t wager anything less than Melody Thorne, slamming three companies onto the table, "Are three companies enough to cover your young artists?"
"Sister Fatty, you’re truly generous," Nina laughed, deliberately flattering.
"Alright, alright, let’s start."
To keep things fair, the bar’s waiter dealt the cards, three cards each, and the highest hand wins.
Melody Thorne laid her cards on the table first; she had exceptional luck, not the highest but second, with little chance someone would beat her!
