Chapter 28 Jessica Jung's 3 Eye Rolls
Chapter 28 Jessica Jung's 3 Eye Rolls
Jessica Jung realized this and immediately added, "What I mean is, it's almost dinnertime now, how about we have dinner together?"
"Weren't you going shopping?"
"I'm not going, I feel a bit tired."
Tsk, it really is the same person. Their stamina is exactly the same as Jessica's. If they can sit, they will never stand.
Just as Chen Ran was about to speak, his phone rang.
He picked up his phone, read the caller ID, glanced at Jessica Jung next to him, then took a few steps to create some distance before answering the call.
Jessica Jung didn't seem to care.
Chen Ran answered the phone, and a voice on the other end of the line looked 90% like Jessica Jung.
"Hey, I'm hungry. I'm about to order some takeout. I'll call and ask if you're coming home for dinner tonight."
"I'm not going home to eat; I'll eat out tonight."
On the other end of the phone, Jessica raised an eyebrow slightly upon hearing this: "You have plans with someone else?"
"yes."
Chen Ran glanced at Jessica Jung not far away and smiled, "With someone you know very well."
Jessica frowned instantly: "You're not having dinner with Kim Tae-yeon tonight, are you?"
Chen Ran was taken aback.
Why would this older sister think of Kim Tae-yeon?
He suddenly realized that Jessica seemed a little strange ever since he met Kim Tae-yeon, whom he had known for 12 years.
Could it be that my 25-year-old self had something going on with Kim Tae-yeon?
"What are you thinking? Kim Tae-yeon is a very busy person, how could she have time to have dinner with me?"
Jessica's voice instantly rose a few decibels: "Wow, you really want to have dinner with Kim Tae-yeon?"
"I was just kidding. I'm not even close to Kim Tae-yeon, so why would we have dinner together?"
"Oh, that's true."
Jessica's voice returned to normal; she did seem to have been a bit paranoid.
Now she realized who she was having dinner with Chen Ran.
"Are you having dinner with Jessica Jung tonight?"
"Yeah, I ran into her when I came to buy a car. It was lunchtime, so we had dinner together."
"Okay, then you go eat. I'll order takeout for myself."
"it is good."
After hanging up the phone, Chen Ran turned and walked back.
"Is there something wrong?" Jessica Jung asked.
Chen Ran shook his head: "It's nothing, just a call from home. Let's go eat."
"it is good."
The two got into Jessica Jung's BMW together, and the car quickly started and drove off in one direction.
Nearly twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of a Chinese restaurant.
Jessica Jung unbuckled her seatbelt, glanced out the window, and asked:
"Do you really enjoy the food at this Chinese restaurant?"
This time, she and Chen Ran went to the same Chinese restaurant where she had treated Chen Ran to dinner last time.
Chen Ran smiled slightly: "Yes, I do like it quite a bit. It tastes good, doesn't it?"
After all, it's a dish he's eaten since he was a child; how could he not like it?
Jessica nodded, making a mental note of it, and got out of the car with Chen Ran and walked into the Chinese restaurant.
As soon as I entered, Uncle Han, the lobby manager, greeted me: "Xiao Ran is here."
"Uncle Han, are there any private rooms available? My friend and I are here for a meal."
"Yes, how about the same private room you had dinner in last time? It's currently empty."
"Okay, then we'll go by ourselves."
"it is good."
Standing to the side, Jessica Jung blinked in confusion as she watched the scene unfold before her, then followed Chen Ran forward in a daze.
She quickly realized what was happening and reached out to tug at Chen Ran's clothes.
"Hmm? What's wrong?"
"How come you're so familiar with the lobby manager of this store?"
Chen Ran paused slightly, blinked, and said, "Because this is my family's shop."
"What?! This is your shop?!"
Jessica Jung's eyes widened slightly, and it took her a while to react: "Then why didn't you tell me last time?"
"You didn't ask."
You didn't ask.
A seemingly casual remark caused Jessica Jung to pause in her tracks.
Because those words instantly brought back unpleasant memories for her.
Two days ago, she asked Chen Ran why he didn't tell her he was a screenwriter, and this was Chen Ran's answer.
Why didn't you tell me you were the screenwriter?
You didn't ask.
Why didn't you tell me last time that this was your store?
You didn't ask.
Jessica Jung looked at Chen Ran's back in front of her, her breathing becoming heavier.
She suddenly had a strong urge to strangle Chen Ran.
Could this man have done it on purpose?
Standing still, Jessica Jung lightly stomped her foot and followed after him.
The two entered the same private room they had visited before and sat down.
But this time the two were not sitting opposite each other.
After Chen Ran sat down first, Jessica Jung sat down directly to his right.
Chen Ran picked up the menu on the table and looked at Jessica Jung: "Shall I order this time?"
Jessica Jung couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly: "It's your restaurant, so of course you get to order. This time I want to eat something different. If it's not good, I'll give you a bad review."
"Hahahaha, okay, then I'll try my best to satisfy you."
Chen Ran smiled and opened the menu, flipped through a couple of pages, and then suddenly spoke again:
"By the way, dinner tonight is on me. Thank you for helping me look at cars this afternoon."
Jessica Jung laughed speechlessly upon hearing this: "You're treating me to dinner at your family's restaurant. You really know how to live frugally."
Chen Ran seemed oblivious to the sarcasm in Jessica Jung's words, and responded with a smile:
"Thank you for the compliment. I've always been quite good at managing my finances."
His shamelessness made Jessica Jung roll her eyes again.
But Jessica Jung was actually happy inside.
She could clearly feel that her relationship with Chen Ran had become much closer.
Now the two of them can joke around with each other.
Unlike last time, when it was just two people completing a specific task.
One person invites, the other accepts, and the main point is to eat and leave quickly.
After a pleasant dinner, Chen Ran led Zheng Xiuyan out of the store and ate a "free meal" without paying.
The two walked to the BMW, where Jessica Jung took out her car keys and unlocked the door.
As soon as she opened the car door, she saw Chen Ran open the passenger door and get in.
Jessica Jung couldn't help but laugh: "Hey, aren't you sitting a little too casually? I didn't say I was going to take you home tonight."
Chen Ran waved his hand with a normal expression.
"Since you already delivered it once before, you know the location, and my house is close to your dorm, it's on my way, so why should I bother taking a taxi again? Besides..."
Chen Ran fiddled with the small toy hanging on the rearview mirror, looked at Jessica Jung, and smiled.
"You wouldn't want your sister to miss out on the audition, would you, Jessica Jung?"
Jessica Jung paused for a moment, then couldn't help but roll her eyes at Chen Ran for the third time that night.
She didn't say anything more, but fastened her seatbelt, started the car, and retrieved the address of Chen Ran's house that she had entered last time on the navigation system, and drove towards Chen Ran's house.
Chen Ran smiled at her, said nothing more, and turned to look out the car window.
Two seconds after he turned his head away, Jessica Jung's lips, which she had been deliberately suppressing, finally lifted slightly in relief.
