Chapter 12 The Bet with Yoo Young-jin!
Chapter 12 The Bet with Yoo Young-jin!
Kim Tae-yeon's face turned red instantly.
She almost immediately put her heels down and withdrew her hands.
"Senior, we didn't! You...you're talking nonsense!"
Kim Heechul's smile deepened.
"I didn't say who it was, why are you in such a hurry?"
Kim Tae-yeon was speechless for a moment.
She opened her mouth, wanting to explain, but the more she explained, the more it sounded like something was wrong, so she could only stand there with a red face.
Jiang Tang took the sticky note back and greeted them proactively.
"Heechul sunbaenim, we're just practicing dance."
Kim Heechul raised an eyebrow, a playful look on his face.
"Dance practice?"
His gaze swept over the sticky note on the mirror before returning to Kim Tae-yeon's reddened ears.
"Does dancing require making girls blush?"
Kim Tae-yeon's ears turned even redder.
Jiang Tang remained calm and answered without batting an eye, "The teacher said she doesn't know how to manage her facial expressions, so I'm teaching her."
Kim Heechul paused for a moment, then burst out laughing.
"You're an interesting kid."
He came in and placed two unopened bottles of beverages beside him.
"What's your name?"
"Jiang Tang".
Jiang Tang responded with a smile, not at all reserved.
Kim Heechul looked him up and down a few times.
This person has clean features and youthful eyes, yet his gaze doesn't reveal the timidity of a typical newcomer.
"You're good-looking, just a little less so than me."
Jiang Tang also glanced back at Kim Heechul and found that he was indeed more beautiful than she had imagined.
Seeing that Jiang Tang did not refute, Kim Heechul nodded in satisfaction and then glanced at Kim Tae-yeon.
"Taeyeon."
Kim Tae-yeon immediately looked at him nervously.
"Yes, senior."
Kim Heechul said slowly, "You have good taste."
Kim Tae-yeon suddenly panicked.
"Heechul sunbaenim! We! Have nothing!"
Her voice suddenly became shrill.
Jiang Tang stood to the side and coughed lightly.
Kim Tae-yeon immediately shut up.
Seeing their reactions, Kim Heechul's smile widened.
However, he did not continue speaking.
That's enough of the jokes. If we keep going, everyone will be embarrassed.
His gaze swept over the sticky note on the mirror, and his tone suddenly became more serious.
"The end-of-month review is almost here, isn't it?"
The blush on Kim Tae-yeon's face faded a little, and she nodded slightly.
"Um."
Kim Heechul's eyes became serious, and his voice was no longer as casual as before.
"Don't be afraid of the teacher scolding you."
Kim Tae-yeon looked at him hesitantly.
Kim Heechul said with a smile, "Here, being scolded isn't necessarily a bad thing. The day no one scolds you anymore is when you're truly in danger."
This sentence has almost the same meaning as the sentence Jiang Tang wrote on the sticky note before.
Kim Heechul patted Kang Tang on the shoulder again.
"You too, you can't rely on just your face."
"And you, senior?"
Jiang Tang suddenly said something, and Kim Heechul burst into laughter upon hearing it.
"You little brat, you dare say anything now!"
Jiang Tang smiled without saying a word.
Kim Heechul's tone returned to its previous laziness, but his eyes were more serious than before.
"Don't just focus on flirting with girls."
"If she doesn't pass the end-of-month evaluation, Taeyeon might practice with someone else."
Jiang Tang smiled faintly, his eyes revealing confidence.
No, it won't.
Kim Heechul turned and walked out.
As he reached the door, he glanced back at the sticky note on the mirror.
"Oh, right."
Jiang Tang and Kim Tae-yeon looked over at the same time.
Kim Heechul smiled.
Don't use too many sticky notes.
"The cleaning lady will yell at you."
The door closed.
The practice room fell silent again.
Kim Tae-yeon kept her head down, her ears still red.
Jiang Tang looked at her for a while, then suddenly said, "You have good taste, don't you?"
Kim Tae-yeon suddenly looked up.
"It wasn't me who said that!"
Jiang Tang's eyes were smiling.
"What do you think?"
Kim Tae-yeon was stunned for a moment.
"What?"
Jiang Tang took a step forward, deliberately asking the question slowly.
What do you think of your own judgment?
Kim Tae-yeon looked at him for a few seconds, then picked up her water bottle and turned to leave.
"I'm going to the vocal studio to practice singing."
Jiang Tang followed behind, laughing.
"Hey, Xiao Jiu, you haven't answered yet."
Kim Tae-yeon didn't turn around, but a fierce voice came from her.
"Shut up."
"This is certified by Heechul sunbaenim."
"Jiang Tang!"
She was particularly embarrassed and annoyed when she called his name.
The next afternoon, Jiang Tang practiced alone in the practice room.
He was no longer satisfied with the dance training in class.
The teacher taught dance steps.
But Jiang Tang wanted to know exactly what would be different when these dance steps were turned into a stage performance.
He adjusted himself in front of the mirror again and again.
Even if there are no real cameras in the practice room, he will still set a place for himself in his mind.
Where does the light come from?
Where does the camera come from?
At what second will the audience notice his eyes?
As Yu Yongzhen passed by the practice room, he suddenly stopped.
He stood at the door for a while.
Jiang Tang just finished turning around.
The dance itself wasn't complicated, but he turned around and his gaze returned to the camera beautifully, as if he was waiting for the camera to approach him.
Yu Yongzhen pushed open the door and went inside.
Jiang Tang saw the person in the mirror, immediately stopped what he was doing, turned around, bowed and greeted them.
"Hello, PD Yu."
Yu Yongzhen's gaze shifted from Jiang Tang's feet to her position in the mirror, and then slowly returned to Jiang Tang's face.
Are you interested in performing on stage?
Jiang Tang paused for a moment.
This question surprised him somewhat.
He had expected Yoo Young-jin to critique his movements or point out which beat was off, but he didn't expect the other person to ask this question.
Jiang Tang thought for a moment, then softened his voice a little.
"I originally thought I would write stories in the future."
Yu Yongzhen sensed the hidden meaning in his words and his eyes flickered.
"And now?"
Jiang Tang's gaze passed over the glass door of the practice room.
On the other side of the corridor, Kim Tae-yeon had just come out of her vocal lesson.
He must have been praised by the teacher, because his face was still beaming with barely suppressed joy.
She saw Jiang Tang standing in the practice room and paused for a moment.
Jiang Tangchao smiled at her.
Kim Tae-yeon immediately looked away, but didn't walk too fast.
Jiang Tang withdrew his gaze and said to Yu Yongzhen, "Now I feel that being in the story isn't so bad."
Yu Yongzhen looked at him for a few seconds.
He certainly noticed the glance Jiang Tang had given into the corridor earlier.
The thoughts of teenagers are not hard to understand, but this boy named Jiang Tang has a strange desire to express himself compared to ordinary trainees.
It seems he doesn't simply want to stand on the stage.
He seemed to be observing the stage, and also the people on the stage.
Yu Yongzhen took out a recording studio pass from the folder.
Jiang Tang's gaze immediately fell on the pass.
He certainly knew what this thing meant.
For a trainee who hasn't officially stayed on yet, the sticker in Yoo Young-jin's hand is practically a preview of a path to a higher level.
But Yu Yongzhen didn't hand it to him directly; he just held it between his fingers.
"Come find me to collect it after the end-of-month evaluation is approved."
Jiang Tang paused slightly.
He didn't expect the opportunity to come so quickly.
Seeing his reaction, Yu Yongzhen's eyes actually lit up with a smile.
He's still just a young man.
No matter how composed someone is normally, they will inevitably show surprise when faced with an opportunity that suddenly appears before them.
He waved the pass between his fingers. "What, you don't dare take it?"
Jiang Tang came to his senses.
He looked up, the surprise in his eyes quickly subsided, leaving only confidence.
"It's not that I'm afraid."
Yu Yongzhen looked at him.
Jiang Tang thought of Kim Tae-yeon across the corridor, and how happy she would be if she could go to the recording studio to practice anytime.
He smiled.
"I just feel that it came a little earlier than I expected."
Yu Yongzhen's gaze fell on Jiang Tang's face.
"Is it possible?"
Jiang Tang glanced at herself in the mirror.
The sixteen-year-old boy stood in SM's practice room, looking far from mature, but his eyes were already more captivating than they had been a few days ago.
He looked away, his tone brimming with youthful confidence.
"I'm determined to get the pass."
……
three days later.
The end-of-month evaluation is finally here.
