Chapter 1179 - 903: The Grand Finale
Liang Weixiang offended the elder two for the sake of the third child’s family. They were unwilling to provide her with any retirement funds, and she had nothing to say, though she was indeed too biased.Liang Weixiang wouldn’t suffer any loss from this matter. If her monthly income was reduced, she would just have to ask the third child to make up for it.
The third daughter-in-law was clever and didn’t refuse to give. As the saying goes, since the other two wouldn’t support, they would take care of her, considering the mother-in-law would live with the third child’s family. They were all family, so there was no need to talk about money. This money could be used for daily living expenses like food and supplies.
In any case, when it came to meals, Liang Weixiang wasn’t expected to pay.
Liang Weixiang knew she would not fare well in front of this third daughter-in-law. Now she dined herself, she didn’t need to eat at theirs anyway, and with both of them working, leaving early and returning late every day, they didn’t live together, how could she go to their house and starve in the northwest wind?
And the kids at home, she was the one picking them up from school every day. Even their snacks came out of her pocket.
Qiu Hualan had finally seen it all; her children were all selfish. She had to be cautious in the future; she needed to keep some money at hand.
Liang Weixiang’s sons were still scheming against each other and never stayed quiet, while her two daughters were faring increasingly well.
The eldest daughter, Da Niu, was ambitious; her husband was not particularly capable but diligent. Together they managed a noodle shop that supported a family of four with a surplus. Their two daughters were obedient and good students. The elder daughter was now in a teacher’s college, and the younger daughter was in high school with promising prospects of getting into a university. Once their kids were in college, the couple would have finally made it through the struggle.
Over at Zhang Dandan’s side, after buying a house, she had been earnestly repaying Jiang Hongmei’s money, which she had just finished paying off.
She now didn’t intend to tire herself too much. She hired a young girl to manage a small shop, giving herself some free time, and she ventured into making some fruit juices which sold well.
Zhang Dandan was thinking of opening another store. But hiring someone to manage a store involved costs, and she needed a good location for the shop.
Zhang Dandan set her eyes on a spot at the entrance of a residential area, which seemed to have just been handed over, housing families of the armed police force. When it was built, they considered the community life, constructing storefronts around the perimeter. Zhang Dandan chose a small opening. Without needing a full store, most residents returned home to eat from the nearby complex.
After settling her plans for the store, Zhang Dandan mentioned it to Jiang Hongmei, who had no objections and thought the place was quite good.
Zhang Dandan was quick to act; once she decided, she promptly renovated, opening within a month.
Seeing Zhang Dandan working so hard alone, Liang Hongmei wanted to introduce her to someone. But recalling her past, she hesitated to bring it up; such a woman indeed had difficulty finding someone.
Thus, she mulled it over for a long time without mentioning it to her.
On Lin Wan’s end, she recently took on two big orders, totaling tens of thousands of military coats. This wasn’t a small project. Her employees were now working overtime to meet the deadline.
They were hurrying to complete a portion for delivery in a month. Lin Wan was strict about quality, which kept her particularly busy these days. Therefore, Lin Wan wasn’t privy to what was happening in S City.
She had no interest in knowing either; she was currently enjoying peace, not needing to bother with that. Once she wrapped up these tasks, she planned to take a break and focus on tutoring her daughter, aiming for a good school.
Han Yi wasn’t strict with Little Star about schooling decisions. He had no special requirements for her to attend a particular academy; he understood that his daughter had the same poor constitution as his wife, nothing like him. Enrolling her in a military academy wouldn’t help and would more likely hold her back; better to let her choose something she enjoyed.
He knew that his daughter had loved drawing since childhood, so enrolling in an art school was the right path.
Getting into an art academy was relatively easier, though costly. However, these expenses were not a problem, given that expenditures in this area had always been high since her childhood.
The only thing Han Yi couldn’t accept was nude art — painting someone naked while being observed and painted by others. So while his daughter could attend an art academy, she couldn’t impulsively become an exhibit, viewable by others but not at her own expense.
For this reason, both Lin Wan and Han Xingyue were at a loss for words, repeatedly explaining that it wasn’t what he imagined.
Actually, most schools hired older individuals or married men and women in their thirties or forties as models for life drawing; these were serious and dignified pursuits.
Han Yi could care less about these facts, so he kept insisting. He asked his daughter to stay vigilant. Over these days, both Han Yi and Lin Wan had gathered that the best art academy now was in the Capital City. When the time came for their daughter to go far off to school, they felt uneasy, as she had never been away from them since her childhood.
