There was a strange mood that came over this group as they said this.

It was as if some strange melancholic mood fell over this group, but that soon disappeared.

After all, there was a reason that they had all gathered here.

They hadn’t been able to do anything when that kid had fallen to the grasp of the Black Tide, so there was a part of them that blamed themselves for what happened afterwards. After all, the world wouldn’t have suffered as much if they had been able to act at that moment.

"We’ll have to do this for everyone that couldn’t be here."

All of them nodded in agreement when this was said.

The ones that had gathered here were those same heroes that had gone to the village back in the past.

They were the only ones that had been able to live until now.

But that wasn’t because the others had died, it was because they had run out of lifespan.

Even for heroes, it wasn’t as if they could just ignore the limitations that came with being human. They would still age and eventually die out, it wasn’t as if becoming a hero meant that they would become a completely new species.

The ones that had gathered here today were those that had been among the top heroes back in the day. It was only because of this that they were able to survive until now, though they still did age.

They looked like they were in their middle ages rather than looking like a bunch of old men and women that they really were.

As a hero, they did have a special kind of blessing that allowed their bodies to last longer.

So while they didn’t have an infinite lifespan, they did have a lifespan that was longer than others.

As for the ones that died, they just weren’t as strong as the ones that remained. It was also why the ones that remained all held high positions in the Hero Association.

If this group were to disappear, there was no doubt that it would send ripples among the Heroes Association. But it wasn’t as if they were planning to die, there was a reason that they had lived this long in the first place.

With this kind of power gathered, it was almost as if they were preparing for an all out war.

There was no doubt that they would be able to handle whatever came at them, which was what they had been planning to do.

Since they had all been gathered, the only thing that was left was for them to head to the place their target had last been sighted.

With a wave of his hand, there was a portal that appeared in front of Percival.

This wasn’t something that could have been done by a normal person, it was only with Percival’s immense power that he was able to do this. Though if it wasn’t for the fact that they were in a hurry, he wouldn’t have used this portal.

When he came out on the other side, Percival was panting.

It could be seen by all that it took a lot of energy out of him just to create this portal.

Which was why they all let him rest as they went off to explore this area.

The area that they had appeared in was the place that the kid had last been reported to have been seen in.

This was an area that was completely devoid of life.

It was a place that the Black Tide had swept through and destroyed everything, so there really wasn’t a single thing for them to find here.

But as heroes, it wasn’t as if they couldn’t take care of this.

With their abilities, they were able to clear out the black ooze that was around them.

Once the black ooze was cleared, the space around them seemed to recover a bit and there was a foothold that was created for them.

But in response to this, it seemed like the other black ooze around them felt like they were being threatened. Which was why that black ooze suddenly started to react by creating monsters.

It seemed like a fight was about to break out, but none of the heroes backed down seeing this.

In fact, this was what they wanted to see.

After all, they knew that it wouldn’t be easy to lure out their target.

So the only thing that they could do was create a commotion and hope that their target would come out.
