Slowly Falling into His Love Trap

Chapter 425: Evelyn, I Have Something to Say to You

Chapter 425: Evelyn, I Have Something to Say to You

Evelyn woke up early, having endured a night full of nightmares.

In her dreams, she was running along a road paved with coffins, and inside those coffins, countless Caden Lockwoods were roaring at her, fiercely trying to pull her into the coffin, to drag her into hell.

Seeing the faint light breaking through the horizon, she stretched languidly, forcibly repressing the terrifying visions.

After resting for so long, the aching in her body had considerably lessened.

Having stayed in her bedroom for two days, she was missing Kiki a bit.

Especially... did Caden Lockwood sleep in the guest room last night?

After all, she had locked her bedroom door.

Or perhaps he had left?

Evelyn climbed out of bed, still feeling a bit of soreness when she walked.

She slowed her pace deliberately and looked out the window to see Caden Lockwood’s car still there.

She had no idea what the incident Aunt May had shouted about last night was.

Evelyn couldn’t stay in the room any longer, hesitated for a long time, and finally moved to open the bedroom door under the pretense of exercising her legs.

Evelyn had originally thought that as soon as she opened the door, she would see Caden Lockwood.

After all, he should have been standing outside waiting for her all night, right?

It seemed he didn’t feel that guilty after all!

Her amber eyes flashed with a hint of disappointment, and hearing a slight noise from the kitchen, Evelyn thought Aunt May might be making breakfast and wanted to talk to her.

Upon reaching the first floor, Evelyn saw the figure in the kitchen—it was Caden Lockwood.

At that moment, Caden was wearing a set of deep blue loungewear, not as formal as usual, looking quite casual.

Especially as he wore an apron, walking around the kitchen with no sense of order, completely unlike his usual self.

Evelyn was puzzled, what was Caden doing in the kitchen?

There was still a faint burnt smell lingering in the living room.

Caden obviously also noticed Evelyn.

His first reaction was to take off the apron, tidy his hair, and glanced at the blackened substances in the trash can, he blocked it from her view.

Seeing Caden so flustered, looking guilty like a thief, Evelyn was naturally curious.

Because of curiosity, she temporarily forgot about that resentment.

"Awake?" Caden proactively spoke, "I came to the kitchen to see if there’s anything to eat, a bit hungry."

After speaking, Caden himself felt the excuse was pathetic and lame, a classic case of trying too hard to cover up.

Ignoring everything else, Caden stepped forward, wanting to reach Evelyn and talk to her.

Seeing Caden approaching closer and closer, Evelyn was frightened, shivering intensely, her face turning pale suddenly.

Panic flashed in her eyes; she quickly turned around and fled.

"Evelyn!" Caden immediately called out to her, "Please talk to me? If you don’t want to speak face to face, we can do it through text! I have things to say to you."

Upon hearing his words, Evelyn’s footsteps momentarily paused.

Then, she quickly resumed her pace, ran back to the bedroom, shut the door heavily, locked it tight, got onto the bed, covered herself with bedding, all in one fluid motion.

Watching Evelyn’s panic-stricken fleeing figure, Caden’s dark eyes lacked any brightness.

He knew he couldn’t rush; Evelyn surely wouldn’t forgive him quickly.

But seeing her avoiding him as if evading a plague, Caden was very hurt.

Evelyn returned to her bed, her heart still beating fast, seemingly about to leap out.

Holding the bedding tightly, all she could think about was Caden’s earlier scene in the kitchen.

He was clearly making breakfast with the apron, why did he deny it?
