Chapter 6 You call this a house?
When Andrea saw the enormous building with her own eyes, she found it hard to equate it with "home".
The entire building is over 20 meters high, square, and funnel-shaped, narrow at the bottom and wide at the top, as if it were made of wooden blocks.
The bottom is entirely supported by a door, and on the door's crossbeam is a C-shaped recess filled with many of the slime girls we encountered before.
"Terra, didn't you say you'd only been here a few days? How did you build such a huge house all by yourself?"
"The nighttime background music is playing, Director, come in quickly." The Terran beckoned Andrea into the house, and once she was inside, they placed a block behind the door to block it.
When Andrea entered, she found the interior quite empty. Far from the mountains of spellbooks she had imagined, there was hardly any furniture, not even flooring. There were no windows, only torches for light. It was a completely unfinished house.
Moreover, from the inside, the funnel-shaped house only had a very thin layer of walls, and Andrea couldn't understand why the house hadn't collapsed.
Could it be that this entire enormous house was also built by the Terrans using block magic?
She thought the Terrans could only build small components with blocks, but she never expected that they could build such a huge house by defying the laws of physics, and that the house could even maintain its shape.
"Is this really something one person could do? Even a high elf would be drained of magic by wasting it like that, wouldn't they?"
"This kind of house isn't difficult to build, anyone could build it, right? But the C-shaped slot on the outside was taught to me by a senior named 'Watermelon Bubble'."
"Regardless of who that watermelon bubble is, no one else can build things using block magic like you, okay?"
What's wrong with this guy's common sense?
The Terran pointed to a spot overhead: "That's your room for tonight."
"Huh?" Andrea looked up in the direction he was pointing.
The "piece" of light hung from the high ceiling of the room. Andrea noticed it as soon as she entered, initially thinking it was just a uniquely styled chandelier.
She walked around it once on the ground.
It was less like a room and more like a three-dimensional painting. The wooden blocks surrounding it formed the thick frame, and inside were a low wooden table of the same thickness as the blocks, a wooden chair, and a torch, which were the contents of the painting. The canvas behind it was painted with wood grain, like a wall.
Andrea couldn't help but complain, "I won't even talk about how we got up there. This room is so narrow that if you take even half a step, you'll fall down along with the furniture, right?"
"Haha~ I was used to living in a two-dimensional world, so I built it like that subconsciously. After I finished building it, I checked it with the house search function and found that the house structure was also recognized in the new version, so I didn't change it."
A silly grin bubble appeared above the Terran's head.
"The main problem is that increasing your favorability with the guide is useless; it won't unlock hidden crafting recipes just because your favorability is high."
"I haven't done anything to upset you, have I? Is it really necessary to put me in a jail cell?"
"Andrea, you are the guide of this world. You haven't seen it, but if I were really building prisons, I definitely wouldn't be so generous with the materials."
"How can you call that 'generous' in terms of materials in that tiny 'area' of a room? Seriously, Terran, do you sleep in rooms like that every day?"
"I haven't slept at all," the Terran said again, startling everyone. "And how am I supposed to sleep without a bed?"
"So you knew all along..." Andrea sighed, rubbing her forehead. "I really think that elder who's always in the library should have come out in my place. They're all crazy... Who's knocking?"
Andrea was speaking when she heard a loud banging on the door.
Andrea walked to the door and tried to open it through the blocks placed by the Terrans.
Don't go.
"What if he's an adventurer?"
"I saw it, it's a zombie."
Why are there zombies in this forest? There isn't a single graveyard around.
Andrea didn't know how the Terrans could see through the wall. She thought about it and figured that someone who needed help wouldn't bang on the door so hard without making a sound. Besides, the Terrans had lived there longer than she had, so listening to them was the right thing to do.
The Terrans blocked the door with blocks to keep out the monsters.
When she first entered the house, she saw that the Terrans had blocked the door. She thought they were going to lock her inside, and she was a little nervous.
The people of Terra were wrongly accused.
"By the way, Director, you mentioned the Amber Room before, what is that? Before testing whether I'm in hardcore mode, I'd like to hear about the new storyline in the new version."
"Maybe there are some clues related to the progress. It wouldn't be good if we skipped the plot and skipped life itself."
"Well, anyway, Terran, you're interested in our elf history? That's good taste. Hmm, you actually thought of that, that's impressive!" Andrea said, hands on her hips.
A smiley face bubble appeared above the Terran's head: "Thank you for the compliment."
"I'm saying how amazing I am! I actually understood your weird talk."
Seeing the smiley face bubble above the Terran's head disappear, Andrea quickly added, "What I said was a double entendre, we're both amazing."
*
Terra and Andrea sat facing each other at the table.
"You know the Terrans too..."
"I have no idea."
"Don't interrupt! The region we're in now is called Hispania. I was born in an elven settlement far from here. But the elves originated from a peninsula in the east."
The high elves of that time created a nation called Latim, jointly led by the Council of Elders and the High Elf. Over the next millennium, they conquered vast territories, including Hispania, extending their reach even to the Pyramid Sands south of the sea. Afterwards, the High Elf proclaimed himself Elven King...
"Are the new version of the pyramids and deserts actually on the other side of the sea? It's like they've expanded the ecosystem to a massive scale and even extended the marine environment."
"It's getting harder to find treasure chests underground in the desert. Should I build a sand-dredging machine to create an artificial desert environment?"
As Terran pondered his future plans, his pet climbed onto his lap, and Terran patted its head.
"Eh~ I didn't expect Terrans to keep pets." Andrea looked at the round, gelatinous creature in the Terran's arms.
"Actually, I only started raising it a few days ago because I kept forgetting to give the bronze dagger to the slime."
Andrea raised an eyebrow at the gelatinous creature and continued.
"The empire was once incredibly glorious, with its capital known as the Eternal Mountain of the Gods. But its glory did not last long, and the empire split into two parts, east and west. The western empire, burdened by its own problems, disintegrated under the invasion of a human king and a demon king led by an alien race."
"Among the major powers I know of on this continent, one is the loose federation formed by the Demon King, which unites various demon races such as the Goblin King and the Slime King."
"The kingdom of slimes?" Terran glanced at the gel pet on his knee, an exclamation mark appearing above his head.
"I've only heard about it. Secondly, on the human side, the north is a group of small human states, and the south is a theocratic state maintained by the Pope through the crescent moon faith."
"Crescent moon worship? I get it, this pope is a moon worshipper, and that god is the moon lord, that makes sense. Looks like I have to go to this country to save the world."
The Terran thoughtfully stroked the gel pet in his arms, and Andrea couldn't help but touch it as well.
"The third type is the scattered Elven settlements like ours that survived the fall of the Empire. However, each settlement has a different philosophy. Our group calls itself the Amber House, and our goal is to preserve the artifacts and culture of the Empire era."
"I was sent out to search for these artifacts because many were stolen, and one of them may be related to the Goblin King."
